Secalflor panels are a technology

with special advantages for desert regions.

The conversion of desert soils into green meadows is

a very special goal.

On July 14, 2012, grass was sown on two fields, each covering 700 m², on the outskirts of Barwa, a district in the city of Doha (Qatar):

One field was planted with Secalflor panels and a comparison field under normal greening conditions according to Al Nakheel Corporation.

On day 13 after sowing, there were already signs of stronger, healthier growth in the field with the Secalflor panels compared to the field without panels. On day 20 after sowing, the first mowing took place, resulting in 70% more biomass in the field with the Secalflor panels. From day 36 after sowing to day 103 after sowing, the positive effects of the panels continued to increase, up to more than 16 times the amount of biomass compared to the regular field. The biomass can be put to excellent use for animal feed, among other things.

Our pilot project in BARWA-City has shown that Secalflor panels enable stronger and better plant growth while saving water and fertilizer at the same time.

Up to 70% less water was needed to irrigate the field and no fertilizer was used. Stronger root growth, healthier greenery and more biomass were clear indications of the effectiveness, which could also be seen with the naked eye.

The project was fully pursued and controlled by Al Nakheel Corporation.

Secalflor panels are a technology with special advantages for desert regions. Tree and palm planting develop stronger and healthier root growth. The conversion of desert soils into green meadows, erosion control along desert roads, roadside greening to prevent sand transport and erosion, the conversion of oil-polluted soils or the conversion of soils with a high salt content are very specific topics.
